Southeastern Grocers (SEG) is looking to expand its local offerings by launching a supplier sourcing event for local businesses across its five-state footprint.

SEG, the parent company of Fresco y Más, Harveys Supermarket and Winn-Dixie, partnered with ECRM and RangeMe to source and qualify suppliers with the appropriate SEG buyers for its “Local Supplier Connect” virtual event. Come spring 2022, participants will have the opportunity to engage with SEG buyers and category managers during the event and showcase their products and present their company background, product details and marketing plans.

“As a grocer in the Southeast, we are proud of our roots, and we strive to share and encourage the culture of our communities by highlighting local products in each of our stores.” said Dewayne Rabon, senior vice president and chief merchant at SEG, in a recent media release.

The announcement of the sourcing event follows SEG's May supplier diversity conference, where merchants met with 85  grocery, general merchandise, beauty and personal care suppliers at least 51%owned, operated and managed by women, veterans, people with disabilities or Black, Indigenous, Asian, Hispanic, LGBTQ+ people.

The deadline for interested brands with retail-ready products in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi to register for the event is Monday, Dec. 6.
