Volta, Inc. has appointed Rick Baker as its senior vice president of charging solutions in February.

Volta’s charging solutions organization is responsible for growing partnerships with commercial properties and retail locations. Leading this sector, Baker will work in tandem with the Volta Media Network team to ensure clients and partners can leverage Volta's full suite of solutions. He will report directly to the company's chief revenue officer, Brandt Hastings.

Volta operates a nationwide network of electric vehicle (EV) chargers that incorporate digital displays. Volta installs these location-based media stations in high-traffic retail locations, like Albertsons Companies and Whole Foods Market stores, and partners with advertisers to sponsor the service. The company officially launched its media network in November 2021.

Before joining Volta, Baker served as chief revenue officer at Clearpath Robotics' industrial division OTTO Motors, a venture capital and private equity-backed startup that works with manufacturing and warehouse clients to create resilient supply chains. Before OTTO Motors, Baker worked for numerous automation and software companies and served in the U.S. military for 15 years.

"After more than two decades working with various [artificial intelligence], automation and software companies, I recognize true innovation when I see it," said Baker in a media release from Volta. "Volta's dual EV charging and digital media capabilities connect clean miles to commerce, offering unique value to business partners looking to embrace sustainable forms of transportation - and the new consumer priorities that come along with it. I look forward to being part of Volta's continued growth as electric vehicles become increasingly mainstream."
